Students Gather by the Shores of Songshan Lake
From August 29th to August 30th, City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) (hereinafter referred to as “CityU (Dongguan)”) welcomed its 2024 class of new graduate students.

01 Genuine Care and High Expectations

On registration day, Party Branch Secretary Zhao Yi and Associate Vice President (Operations) Cheng Junxiang visited the welcome site to warmly greet the 2024 incoming graduate students and their families, extending a heartfelt welcome to them. They also offered their appreciation and support to the staff and volunteers working at the event.

02 Warm Welcome, Orderly Registration

To ensure that new students smoothly complete all the necessary enrollment procedures, the university carefully planned, prepared, and organized the orientation process. Every detail of the welcome arrangements was meticulously handled to ensure the registration proceeded smoothly and efficiently.

The university set up a two-tier registration area, providing a one-stop service for the entire registration process. With the guidance and assistance of staff and student volunteers, new students smoothly completed their registration procedures in an orderly manner. The site was bustling with activity, and the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm.

The university thoughtfully prepared welcome gift packages for the new graduate students. These packages are designed to help students familiarize themselves with the university and foster a deeper connection with the campus culture.

The university arranged special transportation services and guidance from dormitory staff to assist with the moving of new students' luggage. Dormitory staff also patiently answered questions about accommodation, helping students quickly adapt to campus life. These thoughtful services made the new students feel the university’s care and attention to their needs.

03 Gathering at Songshan Lake, Dreams Take Flight

Meeting at City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan) is the joy of hard work paying off, the anticipation of limitless possibilities, and the beginning of a new chapter.

Here, you will meet like-minded friends and pursue your dreams together. You will step into the halls of knowledge, exploring uncharted fields. You will challenge yourself and grow continuously through both academic and practical experiences.

Today marks the first day of stepping into City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), and the new students have many thoughts and feelings they are eager to share.

Jia Shilong, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region 

Setting foot in Guangdong for the first time from my hometown in Inner Mongolia, I was greeted by the overwhelming heat and humidity. However, after arriving at CityU(DG), the warmth of the teachers and fellow students quickly eased my discomfort, making me feel right at home: 'One might ask, is Lingnan truly not as good? Yet I say, where the heart feels at peace, there is my home.'

Lu Ruiqi, Changzhou, Jiangsu

"Stepping into CityU(DG) for the first time, my heart is filled with joy. The expansive campus, with its quiet serenity, carries a touch of poetry. At the start of this new semester, I give myself this motto: 'Study hard and improve every day.' On this fertile ground of Songshan Lake, I hope to make the most of this platform to innovate, experiment, and write my own chapter."

With great anticipation, I stepped into City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan). The well-arranged campus buildings not only left a strong visual impression on me but also deepened my sense of belonging to the university. "The road ahead is long and arduous, but I will search high and low for my path." I hope to become a better version of myself during my time here.

Arriving at City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), I felt both excitement and nervousness. Graduate school signifies the beginning of an unknown journey in a new place, one that I will navigate on my own, and I am filled with anticipation. I believe that through this platform, I will gain a wealth of knowledge and a global perspective, enabling me to better realize my personal potential and make greater contributions to society.

Upon entering City University of Hong Kong (Dongguan), I felt both nervous and excited. On one hand, I worried about whether I could adapt to the new environment and teaching methods; on the other hand, I was eager to start a new chapter in my life. However, once I arrived at the university, the beautiful surroundings and caring teachers quickly eased my concerns, allowing me to embrace my graduate journey with a positive and open mindset.

Zhang Haoyue, Nanjing, Jiangsu

Today is my first day at the university, and I feel both excited and motivated. Although a bit nervous, this feeling drives me to embrace the challenges ahead. As the new semester begins, I remind myself to "stay persistent and strive for excellence." In my future graduate studies, I hope to gain a deep understanding of information engineering and develop the ability to independently complete research projects.
